Give Back to Birth Charities
The International Mother Baby Childbirth Initiative (IMBCI) and the MotherBaby network site, Bumi Sehat Foundation are two organizations very close to the heart of Pain to Power Childbirth Founder, Debra Pascali-Bonaro. You share in our support of these incredible organizations with every purchase of our Pain to Power Childbirth classes, as we give back a portion of profits to support their efforts to improve MotherBaby care throughout the world!
The International MotherBaby Childbirth Organization (IMBCO) is a non-profit organization in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, whose mission is to promote every MotherBaby’s rights to respect, dignity and informed decision making, ensuring quality maternity care with love and caring through the International MotherBaby Childbirth Initiative (IMBCI): 10 Steps to Optimal Maternity Services worldwide. Bumi Sehat Bali was founded by Pain to Power friend and mentor, Ibu Robin Lim. Yayasan Bumi Sehat was founded in 1995 as an Indonesian not-for-profit organization. “Yayasan” means not-for-profit, “Bumi” means Earth-Mother, and “Sehat” translates as Healthy. Thus they are the Healthy Mother Earth Foundation. Bumi Sehat operates two Community Health Education and Childbirth Centers – one in Bali and another in post-tsunami Aceh, Indonesia. “Bumi Sehat means Healthy Earth Mother. We believe that access to quality healthcare and to kind, hygienic, culturally appropriate childbirth is a human right. We believe that each individual is an essential societal component of peace. By caring for the smallest citizens of Earth – babies at birth – we are building peace: one mother, one child, one family at a time. We are devoted to working in partnership with people to improve quality of life and to encourage peace.” – Bumi Sehat Mission Statement
